Giving You All You Ever Craved

Giving you all you ever craved
Leaving the darkness of my cold cave
Coming out to the trumpet call of singing birds
The Light, the sound hurts my frayed nerves
Chorus:
But I will persist in giving you the best
I will while in this so-called chaos enter your rest
I will insist that you take me even kicking and screaming
Into the joy and serenity of which I have been dreaming

With mouth dry I will sing from my heart thru this esophagus
Painful to give to you when I feel so like an empty sarcophagus
But your love calls upon the wind and the waves
I am attracted by your promise of now being that better day

The tradition of running away seems absurd at this time
Giving you what you want most seems the obsession of my mind
Like the grass in a lonely meadow laying surrendered to the Sun
I am asking you to consume me in the Light and Heat of your love beloved one!
